Thursday, May 20

6:30PM – 8:00PM

About the Event:

Join John Maina, father of two and Executive Director of CRASH Lancaster, and YWCA York’s Chief Child and Youth Program Officer and mother of two, Ruby Martin, as they co-facilitate a Courageous Conversation about “Talking to Kids about Race and  Racism.” This conversation promises to meet the needs of parents, teachers, youth workers and others who find themselves face to face with children daily. Discuss why these conversations are so important, discover age appropriate ways to have these discussions and how to encourage empathy and perspective taking with the youth in your life. The evening will wrap up with a conversation about supporting others in this work, as we all know it takes a village. A Zoom link will be sent in the confirmation email.
