Join YWCA York’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes To Raise Money For Victim Services

York, PA – (October 4, 2018) Join YWCA York on Friday, October 5 at Warehaus, 320 N. George Street, York, starting at 4:30 pm for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, a fund raiser to benefit YWCA York’s victim services, presented by WellSpan Health.

The WALK invites individuals and teams to walk a mile in high heels to stand up against gender violence. Women are invited to join the cause and raise funds as sister walkers. Families, individuals, community leaders and business groups are expected to attend as well. Prizes will be given to top fund raisers. Everyone is welcome!

This year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes details:

  • 4:30 pm – Kick-Up Your Heels Pre-Party (free food and drinks, beer garden, music)
  • 6:00 pm – Proclamation of October as Domestic Violence Month by the York City Mayor‘s office
  • 6:30 pm – YWCA York’s Temple Guard will perform and lead walkers from Warehaus on George Street to West Market Street and ends at Crystal Ball Brewing on South Beaver Street for the after walk party with food trucks and music
  • 8:00 pm – Awards are announced for top fund raisers
