York, PA – (June 1, 2018) YWCA York’s Synchro-ettes will be hosting the 2018 USA Synchronized Swimming East Zone Championships from Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10, at the Central York Community Natatorium at Central York High School, located at 601 Mundis Mill Road, York, PA.
YWCA York is proud to be hosting the competition that will feature 250 female and male synchronized swimmers ranging from ages 7 to 18 years old and hailing from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, and all of the New England States. More than 350 spectators are expected to attend. The event schedule will feature a number of different categories including individual figures, solo, duet, trio, and team routines.
“I’m excited to see all the swimmers compete and for the community to witness the sport of synchronized swimming,” said Kathy Warner, YWCA York’s Aquatics Director. “We can enjoy the complexity of a sport that doesn’t get much coverage, right in our backyard.”
The competition would not be possible without a grant through The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s York County Tourism Grant Program.
The event is free and open to the public. For schedule and more information on this event, please follow YWCA York on Facebook, visit YWCA York’s website at www.ywcayork.org, or call us at 717-845-2631.
