York Co. Human Trafficking Task Force
Slavery was abolished in 1865, but there are more than 30 million slaves in the world today. Human Trafficking is a form of modern day slavery.
The York County Human Trafficking Task Force is a coalition working together to develop and coordinate a unified response to Human Trafficking.
Mission
To promote awareness and increase education to South Central Pennsylvania regarding the crime of human trafficking/modern-day slavery and to provide support and referral services to those who have identified as trafficking victims.
About the Task Force
The York County Human Trafficking Task Force was formed in 2005 by a volunteer group of human services agencies in York County.
The Task Force is comprised of law enforcement agencies, service providers and community members who are committed to addressing the problem of human trafficking.
Services offered through the Task Force include:
• Outreach and education for law enforcement, medical professionals, and social and legal service
providers on special characteristics and needs of trafficking survivors
• Training and technical assistance to providers in Central Pennsylvania serving victims of trafficking
• Public awareness and outreach events
