Keystone Babies
Keystone Babies is a voluntary, center-based program offered to Pennsylvania infants and toddlers and their families. The goal is to add more high quality care and education for Pennsylvania’s infants and toddlers and offer supportive resources to their families. Keystone Babies programs will involve parents and other family members in the early learning experience and support the relationship between each child and their family.
Here are some of the special features about Keystone Babies programs:
- This program is for children who are enrolled in the Child Care Works program and are younger than 36 months
- Families must pay their Child Care Works co-pay
- The program provides formula, and food for use during the child’s day in the classroom at no cost to the family
- Space will be made available for breastfeeding
- Children will have the same primary teacher during their enrollment in Keystone Babies, up to the age of 36 months
- There will be at least one teacher for every four children enrolled in Keystone Babies.
- Four parent-teacher conferences will be held each year
- Parents will be involved with staff in planning for their child’s curriculum, nutrition, etc.
- Health and Mental Health specialists will work with the program to support children’s development
