Bio of Debra Stock

Deb Stock began her relationship with YWCA York in 1990, serving on the Board of Directors for eight years and later as Board President for one and a half years.  In 2000, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer and successfully moved the organization from ten years of deficits to a balanced budget.  Under Deb’s leadership, the organization has grown from a budget of $1 million to approximately $6.6 million and 60 employees to over 200.  In February 2010, Deb was awarded the Central Penn Business Journal's Nonprofit Innovation Award for Excellence in Leadership. Before her career with YWCA York, Deb was employed with Glatfelter Insurance Group as manager of their Personal Insurance Division and led a team of twelve agents.  During her tenure with Glatfelter, Deb served on numerous committees and Boards.  She was the President of Insurance Women of York for two years and President of Independent Insurance Agents of York for six years.  She earned both the CPIW and CIC designations along with five parts of the CPCU designation.  In addition, she taught insurance classes and facilitated motivational workshops.

Deb is an outstanding leader who consistently raises the public’s trust in the work that YWCA York accomplishes on behalf of the community.  In 2008, York Newspaper Company named her as one of the most influential people in York County.  And in 2009, she was elected to serve as national Board Chair of YWCA USA, after previously serving as the Treasurer.  “Deb is a dynamic leader who possesses a clear vision and deep commitment to our continued success,” said Lorraine Cole, PhD, YWCA USA CEO.
